The following programs assist universities acting as host institutions for Fulbright Visiting Scholars in order to engage in a faculty development and cultural exchange. The selected institutions will receive varying cost reimbursement and allow underrepresented Fulbright Program institutions to engage with professors from around the world.
Category: Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence Program (S-I-R)
This program will assist U.S. institutions that often do not host visiting scholars bring scholars and professionals from abroad to campus. The focus of S-I-R is to engage with institutions underrepresented within the Fulbright Program. S-I-R grantees teach undergraduates and provide cross-cultural or international perspectives for one semester or a full academic year at the host institution. Category: Visiting Scholar and Junior Faculty Development Programs
The Faculty Development Programs available for host institutions of visiting professors from around the world include faculty development, mentoring, and cultural exchange. Host institutions will receive varying cost reimbursements and must meet requirements for each specific program. The programs include Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program for Iraq and the Fulbright Junior Faculty Development Programs for Egypt, Lebanon, and Tunisia. Category: Outreach Lecturing Fund (OLF)
The Outreach Lecturing Fund provides funding to host institutions for Fulbright Visiting Scholars already in the U.S. for short-term guest teaching. The visiting scholars can exchange ideas with faculty and students, K-12 schools, and community organizations.
